Despite the "tech books by me" link, I am currently in the PhD program in literature at Washington State University. Prior to this wonderful time of waxing philosophical (and critical) about the Transcendentalists, nature writers, and other jolly sorts, I was the technical director of an interactive media company. My responsibilities included application planning and development, database design, system administration, and user interface consultation.
The term "sandbox," as I use it here, comes from the hacker world. A sandbox is a development environment in which projects are built and tested without running the risk of messing up a production system. Some such projects have had a home here in the sandbox before continuing on to their ultimate destinations, while others still percolate within this site. Typically these projects are password-protected but if you're curious about something just e-mail me.
Also included in this website are syllabi and handouts from courses I have taught.
Current students (Fall 2008) at Washington State University who are enrolled in English 101.36 or English 101.38 (as well as Toria Johnson's English 101.4 or English 101.43) can access their course information at this link.
