Brief Notes

Some brief notes from the land of me:

  • THATCamp Pacific Northwest is a go for Saturday, October 17th from 10am-5:30pm. Please apply and come if you’re in the area (or even if you’re not and you want to come anyway)—it will be a good time, where “good” means “we will all learn a lot and make good connections and further our work through collaboration and cooperation.”
  • My English 373 students are great; their blogs are linked from the course blog.
  • Over 100 articles and 20,000 page views later, ProfHacker.com officially launched today. I’ve written 10 posts there so far. More to come.
  • In the final days of finishing up Sams Teach Yourself HTML & CSS in 24 Hours, 8th edition. Good thing, because…
  • My exams start on Monday, 9/14. Three weeks of writing. Since I’m also going to finish my diss this academic year, it’s more like writing from now until the end of April (or the end of July, more likely), but the exams are a special thing.
  • The MLA job list comes out on Wednesday, 9/17. If Interfolio were a publicly-traded company, now would be a good time to buy stock. They’ll be getting a lot of my money.
  • I continue to be thankful for two particular people in California, and I miss them terribly. Too bad there aren’t going to be any jobs for me in California.
